Fashion sense?

I hate media and their advice/opinions on fashion sense. Who can really tell you what is in or what is out? I personally think, that people should wear whatever they want and whatever they feel most comfortable in. I, myself, am from NYC, the place where fashion lives, breathes, eats, and sleeps. My friends and I, have the balls to pull out something from a Vintage store, that is so 80's and simply pull it off. Who cares if its not so fashionable, many celebrities wear items that you won't ever think of buying, and they look great. I believe in making fashion statements. Wear what you want, how you want, and start making it a trend. Oh and the color coordinating your clothes to your bag to your head gear? Uhh, that's so over-rated. I can daringly, wear a blue sweater, with some blue jeans, red heels, and a purple bag.. and look unbelievable marvelous. I'd like to know some opinions.

its okay.. referring to trouble#1, why don't you go ahead and buy the same exact clothes that everyone else does.. and you know what you'll look like? EVERYONE ELSE. why be the same?

Fashion is simply the media making money. They tell people that they HAVE to have something, then they buy it, and they make loads of money. I think that people should be able to wear what they want without being criticized, to a degree, anyway. Some people just care about fashion, and wear what looks sensible and nice. Others, like you, are more daring and like to experiment. I don't see why anybody would look down on you for that, or think you have a bad taste in clothing.

It's not you are being a fashion rebel. Latest collections are there to give you an idea on what would be the hottest and latest trend for each season, if it was something that you had in mind about the fashion business then fashion houses or designers would have been bankrupt already.

You did mention that you prefer vintage clothes, vintage clothes were actually designed by vintage designers also. So basically it's a cycle when it comes to fashion industries. The media is not requiring you on what to wear and how you are suppose to look like. It's basically about ideas. Another thing, there is no general rule when it comes to fashion. It's about an eye for detail, if you feel like you are confident about you wear then good for you.

It's not like other people are trying to look the same it's the trend that's why there are different collections per season. You can make a statement of your own, it's just that there are just do's and don't about clothes, That's why some people look funny than stylish instead. If you ask me, it's about eye for details

that's true but personally I don't go for vintage I just buy clothes I like in a shop but I do sometimes go for fashion but I'm not 100% crazy about fashion it wastes loads of time.

I am so with you girl friend! I hate trend whores! I would much rather have a cute shirt from Target for $10 than an OK shirt from Abercrombie for $40!!

I agree with you 100%. I'll be darned if I'll sent good clothing to goodwill just because it isn't in style.

i do unlike distinctive of it, yet who am I to declare you have not were given trend journey? I placed on J.crew like that is my interest, and someone would probable no longer imagine of it really is totally talked-about. even if. Edit: definitely, I lied. i love the first handbag.
