Yes, no doubt.

The facts themselves...since getting Chris Webber, they're 14-3, and we'll assume he is here to stay for the season; those were very close losses too. Even taking the pre-Chris Webber part, which had Billups and Hunter injured- the worst part of the season, the Pistons STILL have by a lot the best record in the East and are catching up with the West's teams.

The reason they didn't win last year was because coach Saunders got so caught up with winning games for good placing that the starting five got tired out by playoff time with a weak bench. Now with stronger offense due in part to Webber, less emphasis on winning games, and more on developing the bench, the Pistons are not only better than last year as a whole but more well-suited for the playoffs themselves.

Miami would be the big problem in the way...but Dwayne Wade's injury basically lost their hopes, so they're out of contention. The 4-3 series against Cleveland was flukish, in both games this year Detroit stifled Cleveland pretty bad, and these were a better indicator of what the "real" Pistons are. The only conceivable threat is Washington. Also, the East's other teams are pretty close together, they'll duke it out in 7 games while the Pistons with #1 seed cruise to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Yes at this time the beast of the east is the Detroit Pistons. They are my pick also as the team that's gonna win it all this year. If anyone can give em a run in the East, than the rest of the team needs to start playing ball in Cleveland and lighten the load on James' shoulders.

yes they are but there is an exception. with dwane wade and shaq taking over the heat, they are bringing their team far. And if anything happens to either of them, they have great backup and a great second string. thats when dwane wades dislocated shoulder comes in, if he doesnt recover soon, pistons are deinitely going to the top.!!!
but as for my opinion, i havent heard much about the pistons since ben wallace moved to the bulls. but since they are my favorite east side team, they are gonna do better than they did last year

to put it short....YES!
who else can give them a run in a 7 game series? Miami just got shot in the foot by losing Wade. LeBron is finding himself in the same position that Iverson had in Philly for so many years...so Cleveland is done. Orlando is good, but not good enough.
so...guess who's going to the 'ship?

Like the one guy said. Who will beat them in 7 games besides the Mavs or Suns.

they've beat orlando twice in a week. Heat may miss the Dance if wade is gone long. Cavs. Please
