there are a vast number of places to go:
the Arch, Six Flags, Science Center, Planetarium (those two connect by 2 really cool walkways: 1 over the highway & one underground under it too), the Zoo (FREE to get in!), History Museum, Art Museum, Forest Park, the Muny, the Magic House, the botanical gardens, the butterfly house, the Old Courthouse, Fox Theatre, the Symphony Hall (both on Grand Blvd), casinos, the cathedrals (old one is beautiful), the Anheuser-Busch Brewery, Ted Drewe's Frozen Custard, Grant's Farm, Union Station, Busch Stadium, Laclede's Landing (aka The Landing) & various areas like The Hill (italian area w/ wonderful restaurants), University City, the Central West End, Lafayette Square, Soulard & the Delmar Loop. I'm sure there are numerous other places that I could name but that's all I can remember at this point. I also hear there is a big outdoor ice-skating rink somewhere.....I'm out in the suburbs so I've never been to it.

Dont forget the Delmar Loop: http://www.ucityloop.com/
I love the loop, it is blocks and blocks of eccentric shops, restaurants, and music spots.
Also, Central West End: http://www.centralwestend.org/
Also a lot of good food, and beautiful sites. This is my favorite spot because it has a very nice coffee shop and on Saturdays, Club Viva for Salsa Dancing!!!
