Used on eBay or refurbished from Apple (recommended - full warranty and optional AppleCare for 3 years of coverage).

There's no such thing as a free dinner. If you want used then buy a Mac magazine, there are ads in it for used sales. The Apple shop site also lists ex demos or guarantee returns very cheaply and they are warranted.
I wouldn't recommend eBay or the like because if its a dud there is no comeback.

Goto http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=2ACE5063&nclm=Certified and look at the refurb MacBooks which are great deals, carry a full 1 year MFR warranty and are eligible for Applecare. Ebay is hit or miss and I wouldn't recommend unless you are well versed with Macs and know exactly what your getting. G'luck.
