This is going to be different for everyone... SO.. here is a general estimate. 120/70 is mine.

For preeclampsia to be diagnosed you need two or more things going on NOT just blood pressure. So the blurred vision and dizziness may be enough...

If you have high blood pressure (preeclampsia) then you will be above 140/90. That would be high... 20 above each of your normal numbers. When I got induced with my 2nd pregnancy my blood pressure was 158/108. With my 3rd pregnancy it was 158/123. They had to put me on magnesium to prevent seizures. I hope this helps. Good luck

Speaking from a person that gets preeclampsia (pregnancy induced hypertension). Normal blood pressure levels are around 120/80. Most doctors do not want your blood pressure to get above 140/90 at any time, pregnant or not. However if your blood pressure keeps rising they may suggest some or all of the following: bed rest, taking labatelol (you can safely take up to 2400 mg a day while pregnant and they typically start you on 25 mg to 50 mg twice a day), or having you go to the hospital for regular non-stress tests. They will try to lower your blood pressure before they consider inducing because they want that baby to be as close to 40 weeks as possible. Any births before 38 weeks run a higher risk for breathing problems in the infant. My 2nd pregnancy my blood pressure got as high as 260/180. Yes I said 260/180. I had my son 5 weeks and 4 days early. He weighed 3 pounds 11 1/2 ounces. For about 2 months before he was born every 3 or 4 days I was admitted to the hospital for a couple of days so they could get my b/p down and monitor me. I was put on bed rest. I had to have steroid shots in both hips to help develop his lungs. Luckily he was born without breathing problems. I had preeclampsia with my 3rd baby but I was able to maintain the pregnancy to 38 weeks. But when I got pregnant I knew I would have the high b/p and I cut out all caffeine, lowered my salt intake, and rested as much as possible. I suggest getting rest, lowering your salt intake, stop caffeine, and keep your b/p monitored.

hi....just thought i should say. automated blood pressure machines are not always accurate so as long as u r going for regular check ups with your doc u'l be fine....your blood pressure and protein in urine is routinely checked and these two will give signs of pre-eclampsia if any are present...also in ur last few weeks your blood pressure naturally rises....but if are still concerned then talk about it at your next ante natal clinic appt

120/80 is standard. I run 98/55 most of the time. but mine drops lower when pregnant and it causes me to passout if i get up fast. DONT TAKE YOUR DADS MEDICINE or anyone eles's.

Stop worrying about preeclampsia because all you are doing is stressing yourself which would in turn stress the baby.Just make sure you go to the doctor when you have your regular gyn appointments.Good luck.

Everyone's is different.. whatever your baseline is before you got pregnant, it should stay around the same. Find out from your doctor what it has been in the past.
