people start a question that way, you know, to draw you in?
Why don't people simply ask the question?
Examples : ''My boyfriend has......?''
Or '' Do you ever......?''
Why do people do it?

it depends on the question.. if it's something like "Do you ever....? and then it's ....eat peanut butter?" that makes me mad b/c it's a stupid question but I agree why not just ask the question?! but I always get drawn in from curiosity... thank goodness I'm not a cat ;) LOL but I liked being drawn into your question b/c I never really thought about it before... :o)

coz they know deep down that there question is really boring, so they need to draw people in making them think they might answer an interesting question. It stupid coz people answering dont bother with the question in the end.

Yes I understand. A couple weekends ago I asked the same question. I received tons of responses. But no good answers.

Its a hook to get people to read their question. Then people will pay more attention to what the asker is asking. If they just ask it, people will just glace over. It's why I opened up your question!

No, that doesn't bother me. Only the people who put these ads about making money in their answers are annoying.
