I think I met it once, I was traveling down a dark path at one time, and decided it wasn't for me.. So I guess you could say we have been acquainted.

Yes, and I wish I didn't. -_-
I really do wish I had grown up differently, and that I had not been exposed to a lot of the violence, madness, poverty, pain and death that life has to offer. I'm serious here.
How serious? Currently my dark side....is infatuated with _Hello Kitty_. As in, the rest of my life is so miserable that my "dark side", the Jungian "shadow" I keep from the world....has actually mutated into something utterly cute and silly and nonsensical. But even that has its weird moments....still, you see my point I hope.
Half of my life in the real and some 90% of my life online is an escape from reality for me because the real world has become that oppressive to me. And this...Yahoo Answers is my reminder (at least online) that yes, I *do* have a normal side somewhere buried in all the rubble.

The dark side of life isn't kids playing goth games. It's war and poverty and crime and loss. The dark side won't be such a game to you if you grow up to be an intelligent and sensitive adult.
