No, the days don't need to be longer. They just need to start teaching something useful during the time they have!

No. a lot of students nowdays spend already a lot of time doing homework, if school is lengthened that would mean more hw and less time to do the work.

Our school day is a bit short, for what we are trying to accomplish. We are trying to teach math, English,(Language Arts) Social Studies while students leave for Music, library and P.E. As for art, we only touch it 2 days per month, due to the lack of resources and personnel.

In a low income community, our students are in a hurry to get out of school. Many of the teachers are glad that the day has ended, as well. But, if we had longer days, even one more hour, we could focus on the critical areas of reading, writing and arithmetic that the ethnic students are struggling in today. Sure they are glad to get out at 2:45, but did they learn enough to grow on for that day? We think not.

I think they should, but they shouldnt teach much extra material. Just give the students more time to work on the work they already have in school.

No, when they lengthed our school days in NY. It added to teachers work load, but only added 2 minutes per class period. Longer school year, yes, longer day, no.

no. I have seen tests for school all year long too. I disagree with both. personal and family time as well as homework time is mandatory in a well adjusted family.

No

It will just increase pressure and general load. School work will begin to get worse.

What they need is better teachers and teaching methods.
