Big government will be the death of our country just like it has been any other place! Reduce government and more people will have better healthcare! "The heart can be swayed quicker than the mind." ~ Libertarian

P.S.- Go understand economics and why we use to not have government in anything! There is nothing bad enough that government can't touch and make worse!

You're a person after my own heart. I am on disability because of a heart condition, and I just got out of the VA hospital in Philadelphia. While I was there, I became friends with other vets who literally have nothing and are staying in shelters which have little to nothing to offer them in the way of food and clothing. Before I left the VA hospital, I gave away three pairs of my pants and several shirts to my friends. They stay in contact with me via cell phones I helped them get, and I send them money and cigarettes when I can. The way I see it, if those who have just a little bit extra would help out another human being in need, no matter who they are( yes- I know all about not giving money to an addict) to take care of their simple needs for food and clothing, and if this were done across the nation by all Americans who have any sense of need to care for our own poor and destitute, we would get the upper hand on this problem. Also, getting to the root causes of why these folks are in the state they are in(yes-I know alot of them have made foolish choices and alot of them choose to be where they are in society) and trying to get them to learn how to effectively take charge of their lives at the same time would be of great benefit to them. But they have to want to change their circumstances and rise up out of the quagmire they're presently in. Besides all of this, the government and alot of other people are doing a tremendous amount to help the people I just wrote about. The compassion is out there, we just need to de-politicize the problem.
