The first thing you have to do is ask your provider for a MAC number which they get off BT. It can take several days to get it and when you do, open a new account giving them the number and cancel your old account.

You will have a Contract for twelve months or more. After the requisite period of time you can give one month's notice, get the MAC (Migration Code) and move to another provider. I did just that and moved from Orange to Vodaphone for my Broadband, land line (from BT) and family mobile. Check it out friend and you will be surprised how good the deal is. I am delighted with all the package.
