If I never got to meet him I don't know if I'd ever forgive her! Did you ever date one of your siblings?

Sorry for you,but I would be over the moon
Never of your life seen a bigger idiot, bigot than my father.
Drops.
Do you see him as your real dad?
Then continue doing so
He was there and your biological one wasn't
Due to whatever reasons.
Be glad that they trusted you enough to tell you.
That takes a lot of courage.
And i am not laughing at all
Drops.

Damn. That's tough. Happened to Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam as well. I don't know what I'd do. I think for starters I'd be upset with my mom for lying to me all my life. I guess you're probably already that far with this whole thing though, aren't you? Good luck.

My brother-in-law learned when he was 23 that the man he had grown up with as "Dad" was in fact his legal father but not his biological father. This information was revealed to him only because his mother was forced to tell. She was forced to tell because one of her daughters (a few years older than my BIL) wanted to marry an old family friend---who turned out to be her brother's biological father. I think my BIL handled it with a lot of grace and dignity. He did not want to hurt his "Dad" because he loved him very much. He did establish a relationship with his biological father but his children did not refer to him as Grandpa---that name was already taken by someone else. Children can not penalize their parents for making poor choices. We can only look at their mistakes and vow not to do the same thing.

I'm not laughing. It happened to me too. I keep trying to get her to tell me who my real dad was, and she keeps not telling me. Its frustrating. Its a lot like being kicked in the stomach.

I wouldn't be surprised I can't believe I was actually their real child. I always thought I would find out one day I was adopted. I had this feeling since I was 10 years old.

That would just turn your world upside down, I imagine.

You'd pretty much have to re-think everything, wouldn't you?

Is it better to know the truth? Or would you prefer to not have known? Do you wonder why your mother told you this?

I would accept the fact that my mom is a regular person like the rest of us who tells lies.

I would be angry that I had been lied to all of my life, yet I would also be angry that she told the truth. It would be very confusing and would totally freak me out. Sorry that happened to you.
