Always remember that if you go west, the time is earlier. And, LA is 2 hours earlier than Chicago so it is 2:00 PM in Los Angeles.
One way to remember it is also that New York and Chicago celebrate the countdown to New Year ahead of us here in Los Angeles. NY is already midnight and LA is still 9:00 PM and Chicago is 11:00 PM
