No it's not rocket science, but to the average armature it's hard to visualize

With no offense meant at all it isn't Rocket Science.

If you can envision one, and have any skill levels and tools at all, you can fabricate one.

The first decision you might consider is a size you want. What do you intend for "the box"? Then decide how it may attach to a window? Is this for exterior planting? or simple decoration?

What is the style of your house?

It's pretty basic carpentry. A rectangle. Example: Assume the box will be 24 long x 8 wide x 8 deep. Decide what material you want to use. make your cuts, include measurements to include a bottom, and put it all together.
