Any herbalists out there?

In Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet the monk gives Juliet an herbal potion which caused her to slip into a coma so deep that she was thought to be dead. From which herb is this tale derived?

Its possible for that to have happened with Poppy seeds. He'd need to mix the (opium) Poppy with something strongly alcoholic.

I believe it was poison hemlock.
