There must be a couple of us up already. Sounds like the guy who answered a few minutes ago needs to get to bed. Those day time people can get so nasty. Now, if they'd just get that sun out of their eyes for most of the day they would be nice, gentle, kind, smart and loving people like we are. I'm now an official night shift guru having attained the age of 62 staying up all night long. It's been a long struggle dealing with a world who thought I was lazy laying around in the bed all day but of course, they had no idea how productive I was at night while they were sleeping. If they ever even once shopped at Wal-Mart at 3 am they'd never go shopping at any other time. It's every shopper's dream world. Aisles fully stocked and not another cart pusher in sight. The night staff is so friendly and outgoing, nothing like those poor frazzled souls who try to cope in the daytime. I love my dark and dreamy world. All the squalor of the city is dimmed and faded and I only see the bright islands of safety under the muted street lights. The harmonious night sounds are lovely too. I can hear the whistles of the trains at the switching station down the hill below where I live and wonder what they are taking out to the rest of the world. Just to the south of me is a large zoo and I hear the lion roaring his love of the night hunt. How many daylighters ever get to think of that as an ordinary sound. I leave my footprints on glistening perfect snowfall as I walk my dog and smell the fresh bread and donuts being prepared for the morning rush. I can tell when they are about done and stop by for the first one of the day. They are never as hot and fresh as they are at the minute I get one and I don't have to stand in line to get it. Finally, it's back to my apartment as I give a wave to the police officer who has had his eye on me and my meanderings as he does every night, my own personal body guard. Back to my computer to finish the column I'll be sending out in a few minutes and then to bed as the glaring sun comes up. It won't be shining in my eyes. How about yours?

I am on a coffee break at home. OK snow I am ready for you lets see what you got. I have been waiting for snow for the past two days. We are just above the storm line under a Winter storm watch. I hope this isn't one of those false alarm storms. I don't want to ski on ice.
