They provide jobs to many Americans and we all make use of their services. Maybe not the Amish so much. Not many Americans are self sufficient these days.
I depend on gasoline from these companies so I can earn a living. Many depend on them to heat their homes.
Why would you work against them and hurt your own interest?
I would like to see more discovery of oil anywhere possible. I prefer cheeper oil prices than higher. I would rather have a lesser dependence on foreign oil.

They have been indoctrinated into class envy - being profitable is inherently evil. I am not saying that I think big money is without corruption, which gives need to have a party that distrusts them. But the Democratic party leaders, mainstream media, and Hollywood icons are all preaching this sermon, and are drowning out the moderates in their party who understand that these giants are part of what makes our country as great as it is.

Their other big justification for their hate is their wrong assumption that human actions are stronger than all the laws of the universe and that we are somehow able destroy our planet by means of our reliance on oil. Mother Nature is more powerful than that. It's only because of the reliance we have on the Mid-east that I strongly support research on alternative fuels.

Corporations only support a wealthy macroeconomy, but in a world with exponential technological advancement, even a wealthy macroeconomy will not guarantee a maximum level of overall wellbeing. Liberals' goal is to achieve sustainability. This is the absolute opposite of the goals of mega-corporations, which are completely growth-oriented. Given the way technology is advancing, a growth-oriented society will eventually create a land of impoverished ruled by the wealthy. Some think we're already there.

It would take a long time to explain and support all that, but there it is in a nutshell.

How many Democrats do you know of who are rich because they own so much stock or oil wells? So why wouldn't they hate the oil companies? One thing the Democrats do is look into lowering gas prices as they don't need to line their pockets with its money. Republicans are not going to take out ot their pockets and hurt the oil companies.

They don't understand that private enterprise creates jobs and is responsible for a country's wealth. They see anyone who makes money as being evil, even thought the wealthy and the corporations are what provides the taxes the government needs to run.

If you want less dependence on foreign oil, the best way to correct the trade deficit private enterprise will be needed to invest in nuclear power plants so the coal, oil, and gas fired plants can be phased out.

We can then use elthanol blend fuels and fuels made from US oil and coal for cars and planes.

I'll address the broader question "why do liberals hate...corporations in general."

I am a liberal. But I do not "hate" corporations. You're oversimplifying things. I just think that this country goes easy on rich corporate fat cats, at the expense of the workers. Corporations need to be kept in check, history has shown us that. We had totally free capitalism in the early 1900's, and what did that bring us? Ridiculously low wages, unsafe working conditions, up to 14 hour work days, and small children working in factories.

My problem with corporations today is that they don't pay their workers enough, deny people much needed benefits, eat up our tax funds in the form of "corporate welfare" and reward the employees decades of hard work and dedication by taking their jobs overseas. I applaud responsible companies, but they are much too few and far between. Yes, we need jobs. But I think the American people deserve QUALITY jobs.

nicely youre a fool in case you relatively believe in those stereotypes casted via the acceptable suited wing media. China has enormous government and that they have got enormous agencies as nicely. You cant hate one or the different. You the two hate the two considered one of them or you like the two considered one of them. As for me? the government and firms can screw off. The bureacrats in Washington have taken all the potential from the working type and given it to an elite team of people. via the way government promotes private sector productiveness via corporatism. the own sector could be no longer something without the government. enormous enterprise additionally impacts government. enormous enterprise encompasses a team of unelected, private elites. We dont choose them to have something to do with the government. we sell financial advance, no longer enormous enterprise. and specific there's a distinction

Because to leftist any solution that doesn't involve government is bad. If people are independent of government then they are out of the governments control. That simply won't do. How can the liberals keep all the stupid people from making bad decisions if everyone is running around independently making their own decisions.

In order to create a perfect society. The entire population has to be under the control of enlightened leadership. Super smart people like Hillary to guide them and make all the important decisions for them. Everyone must be straight jacketed into a rigidly uniform society. Those that don't conform are a threat to the acheivement of utopia and must be eliminated.

I wasn't aware that we did hate oil companies. I know Hillary suggested taxing oil companies profits to use the money for alternative fuels. I don't think that will ever fly though.
