Okay this isn't your typical boredom, I like to call it APATHY. It is when you have no desire to do things. I just don't feel like doing anything that requires alot of time and/or effort (projects).

Like learning how to play guitar, it sounds fun, but to actually go and practice everyday takes a considerable amount of willpower. I mean what is the point, I don't feel like it and it won't accomplish much, I'll never be a rockstar, and it really isn't that much fun.

I love playing video games and I love running, so I am not lazy. But I can't just play video games all day every day. Besides, lately I have realized that all video games are so similar that the suprise and fun part has almost disappeared. What the heck can I do for fun every day??? What can keep me busy?

All hobbies require a certain amount of passion no matter whether it is an activity, a craft or a collection. there are no instant hobbies.
You have to find something that interests you and you might want to spend some time with it. Look to your past for interests or think about the things that have some attraction to you, Try it if you don't like it try something else. Without knowing your personality and your interests( believe it you do have things that interest you unless your dead) it is hard to recommend something. Sometimes what really sparks your juices may seem not cool to others. Don't worry about what others think if it gives you pleasure and satisfaction. This is for your free time to spend.

Same problem here. Well, alcohol and ganja are always good. They can revitalize your gaming experience. Playing gears of war high or madden drunk is a totally different experience. Girls are good too, start having a lot of sex. Protected sex. I got a fish tank and it is fun for about 15 mins a day. Work like a maniac. I work about 55-60 hour a week because I know if I go home all I will do is drink and smoke until I pass out. I also learned how to play guitar quite well, and it is fun, but your right, im not going to be a rockstar or anything. Its fun playing drunk with your friends and sometimes it will get a girl hot. If none of this sounds like fun to you, no stupid hobby is going to. Hope it helps lol.

In psychological terms, it's known as anhedonia- where things don't seem pleasurable to you anymore. It's a big part of any depressive disorder. It hits people alot during winter, especially active types. It could also be cabin fever- being cooped up indoors just waiting for spring to hurry up and get here, and to get winter done with can take a real toll.
Some people here gave some great ideas- like taking a weekly class on something you always wanted to learn. I myself gave up on a LOT of my hobbies and projects because of the winter doldrums, and am seriously thinking of taking a class just to get myself out of them.
Just remember- you're not alone, and there are lots of peeps out there going through the same thing!

You need to get out of the house and talk to other people. This can be a lot more frustrating than staying at home, but the rewards are greater. You don't even need to learn how to play the guitar, but you could go to concerts or hang out with people who do play. Who knows, you might get the motivation to actually learn it?

You can also find other people who like video games; get in a group and compare notes.

Find others who like to run.

Any hobby needs some passion and effort in order to be any good. If you can find a "hobby buddy" you will get extra energy from them, and they will get extra energy from you.

Believe me, it will be worth it!

Good luck!

Hi. Been there, cried those tears. The answer for ME may not be the answer for YOU. But here it goes...

The only cure for boredom is... CURIOSITY. However... there is no cure of curiosity.

Good luck. Here's a list of things I found I was curious about:
1. surrealistic artwork to illustrate my dreams
2. opening up a golf ball to see for myself what's in there
3. after i carve a melon into some imitation of a huge gorgeous flower... does it taste any better? Can I eat it or just look at it?
4. when I "people-watch" at the mall or coffee shop can I catch folks watching me?
5. uhmmm... try to answer other people's questions on Yahoo?
GOOD LUCK

See if you can audit a class at a local college. They sometimes let you take the class for free if you do. It's a good way to meet people and maybe find something you'd like to do.
I don't know what any of your other interests are, but you might also try something like the Society for Creative Anacronism or Amtgard if you like history and fantasy--the are both medieval/fantasy re-enactment. I personally prefer Amtgard--there is more creativity.
