How many of you liberals and Dem,s would love to see guns taken away from us Americans?

people the ak-47 is 100% reliable,it will not jam ,unlike our m-16,,that will jam ,easily.I sugest not limiting the right to own a piticular type ,assault rifles are just semi auto rifles with big magazines,just ban high capacity mags instead,its one way to reclaim votes and still beat the problem ,say due to 40 round clips,not the ak-47 itself.just a thought,as i like to shot targets at proper shooting facilities. variety is important to us gun freaks much like different drinks to you drinkers...ok I will agree make those high caps illeagal ,but let the assault rifles satify the pleasures law abiding citizens in good standing deserve. cheers decider

interesting and for those of you who think the government can not take everthing you got away from you,I say ,dont bet your life on it.give the dem,s and libs 8 years in office and you will have more ak-47.s on the street and good american citizens will be paying 5,000 dollars or so apiece and have less than the criminals have.this is why I decider steer my vote twords republicans.and always will,N.R.A lifetime member and proud of it.p,s I love the gun laws here in florida ANT ANY...cheers good citizens and sinners,you libs too...decider

I would, Most of the guns criminals use are stolen from law abiding citizens, and the criminals aren't going to willingly give them up. So for the Good of the The People, we must disarm the law abiding citizens so the bad guys will no longer have a way to get guns. When the law abiding citizens are totally disarmed, the bad guys will be forced to use old, out of date guns to shoot and murder them with. The weapons will deteriorate over the next few hundred years until there are no guns left.

Or law abiding citizens, for that matter.

Hunting rifles/shotguns- to own these you should have to be licensed - must write an exam, have insurance etc. - similar to driving a car

Handguns - totally outlawed for civilians

Any kind of automatic weapon - totally outlawed

Police and military should be allowed to use guns as they do now.

There is really NO NEED to have a handgun or an automatic weapon. There only purpose is to kill or injure other people.

Edit - For those who say they need to protect themselves with guns - this illustrates my point in that nobody should have guns - take them away from the criminals, then it would be unnecessary for other people to have them. Granted this wouldn't happen overnight, but eventually it could.

Don't you think it's sad that you live in a country where you need to protect yourself from people with guns in the first place? Do you see the hypocrisy?

I really couldn't have said it better than drea376, but I've written similar answers to previous questions.

To add to hers, if there were no guns in the US, then there wouldn't be anyone that you need to protect yourself from with a gun.

I won't say everyone is like this, but everyone I've met who owns a gun has absolutely no concept of responsibility. They're reckless and impulsive and unpredictable. Of course, I thought that way even before I found out that they had guns.

Pretty much, I don't trust anyone I've met who wants guns or wants fewer restrictions on guns. They scare the hell out of me, and those are the ones that have no business possessing one.

They can only take your gun it you let them. How many gang members have they taken guns from? If every law abiding citizen, who has guns, turn them in, then who will have the guns? The one the government can't take them away from.

None of us. I don't want to have bazookas and LAWs readily available for every idiot who wants one, nor do I want full automatic weapons available. But pistols, rifles, semi automatic weapons and shotguns are fine.

I think everyone should have a gun...all the bad guys have them. If we (the peaceful, law abiding folks) didn't have them, than only they (bad people) would have them. Not good for us!
