The badgers could have the advantage if they play 4-4-2 formation (except that it would have to be 8-8-6, obviously).

The hippo can trample any badger to death, and it's jaws will crush the badgers in a second. The only hope the badgers might have is to rush the hippo from all sides, go for weak spots like the eyes, tongue, tail, genitals (ouch) and ears, but even if they manage to blind the hippo, or make it mad with pain, they will still have a big problem in actually killing it, whilst a hippo rolling around in agony would crush a badger with ease.

I'd say it's ten to one that the hippo is the last one standing.
