I prefer females. Not because of the "embarrassment" factor, but beause I think females can relate to me better when it comes to that.

I have always prefered female also because they know how it feels to have a monthly period, go through PMS, have experienced pregnancy & therefore get why I feel the way I do about certain things. My female ob/gyn was so easy to talk to.

I prefer a female doctor. Both have the same training and education, but I feel females have a factor that males don't - personal experience. Women know what we are going through, so they can relate. That makes me feel more comfortable.

I think females can relate well but so can males. I think for people under 30 they might want a female especially a teen. Older than 30 a male would be fine. It's really up to the person though.

I think I prefer a female but I've never been to a male so I don't know the difference. I wouldn't have a problem seeing a male though.

my very first visit was to a female doctor at my college. women weren't allowed to be examined by men at the school health center for sexual harassment issues.

i have always just gone to a woman. i just think a woman would understand my body better than a man since she has all the same parts as I do.

it is personal preference really.

Ive been to both, however I have found that men OBGYN's are more gentle.. The women OBGYN's are more informative.. They can relate on things.. So, if i had to choose, I would say Im more comfortable with a female OBGYN...

Female. I don't want to pay a man to poke around down there, no matter what he's supposed to be doing!

Male. I think that female doctors seem to have an air of superiority around them. i could be wrong, but that's how i feel.

I've always gone to males and never gave it much thought - I only switched once because of an insurance change, and went back as soon as I was able, then I changed to one of his partners when he retired. They are professionals and have heard it all.
