I already go to school for 7 hours, 10 minutes and I don't want to go longer than that! Do you support the extra-long school days?

No, they're debating it in the government.

Hmm... I think, personally, if schools want to provide better education for their students, they need to shift their focus towards academics, instead of spending all their time and money on sports.

No, I don't think sports are a bad thing, but I don't think they have a place in schools. The money that they spend buying gym equipment and new uniforms could be spent on activities that actually expand their children's horizons: activities such as music, speech and debate, field trips for history, government, and science, library books, proper school lunches, and assistants for the teachers.

These activities are generally underfunded, and yet seem to contribute more towards learning. Why is that? Do we go to school for an education, or do we just go to play football?

By the way, I agree with the idea of lessening homework. My philosophy is - you work while you're there. Home should be your own time. Students seem to learn better when they're not forced to cram in six subjects worth of homework every night.

No, I don't support a longer school day. I don't think children have enough time to be children anymore. I think 6.5 to 7 hours a day in school should be enough if parents were doing their job also. That mean the parents should be responsible for making sure their child does homework, projects, and reports. I believe that if parents do their job, there wouldn't be a need for longer school hours.

If the children are in school for 8 to 10 hours a day, when do they have time to socialize, participate in extra-curricular activities, and just be kids? They also NEED time off. They NEED that time away from school, and studying, and structure.

That's what's happening at a nearby schol system.
Bomb threats and bad weather closed the school for too many days, so the time has to be made up.
Longer days just suck. A normal work week is 5 days 8 hours each. My employer wants us to work 10 to 12 hours 7 days a week.

I go to school for an extended day because I take 2 extra classes. I don't support it for regular schools however because the additional time would not work in terms of life. Students have much of their time monopolized by school by their activities after school for it, their homework, and the long-term projects asked of them. To do this would kill what little social life the student have, either with other students or with their family. With a deficiency in either we will have a society full of people in need of help because they could not develop socially early on.

if it means homeowrk is eliminated then yes, ive always thought school days should be a little longer and homework not given, students should be allowed to once they get home to be home, not have more work to do,i know some nights i stay up until 1-2 in the morning doing homework even when i start it as soon as i get home, this is not good for sleep or eating patterns which also affects school, and its not just me i know plenty of people who have to do the same thing just to pass. i think general wellbeing of students as well as grades would be much higher if the extended the school day and eliminated all homeowrk.

Im not for it but i would be ok with it as long as they dont cram the extra time with boring as hell arts and enrichment classes. I would rather have longer time in my core subjects that actually matter. Also if it means next to no homework i would be ok with it most other countries that have high test scores have longer school days and very little homework.

no that doesn't sound good to me, but one day you will wish you were back in school when you have to get up super early just to go to work for 8 or 9 or more hours a day.

No, I don't support it. Kids don't have enough time to sleep, do homework, exercise, or socialize these days as it is. I am firmly against adding on more hours of school.
