I am 17 weeks and today after eating lunch I stood up and they my pants became really wet. I looked down and they were soaked like I had used the restroom on myself. It appeared to just be clear liquid. I called my OB and she said it sounds like a ruputred membrane and if more fluid comes out tonight go to the ER. Anyone else had this happen? What were your results, was your baby fine? I'm really worried any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You shouldn't wait. You should go into the ER now and let them know what is going on. It could have been the baby kicking your bladder, that happened to me in my second trimester, but you never know. It's always best to get these things checked out. And you might think about switching doctors, because that was BAD advice they gave you.

I'm really surprised that they didn't have you go in right away, the fluid protects the baby and protects them from infections. I would go into ER anyways and have them check the level. A baby can not survive if born before 23 weeks then still would have lots of risks of survival.

Put a pad on over your underwear, if you find any more liquid in an hor, leave the pad on, and go tothe ER. If you are leaking amniotic fluid, its unsafe and potentially harmful. If nothing moe happens, dont worry. Just make sure yu are noting your baby's movements, at least six in an hour. If movements seem to have slowed down (if you feel movements yet) cal the ER where you plan to deliver and talk to them. Good Luck, just relax, lay on the couch, NO SEX!, and enjoy your time. I only say no sex becasue if it i amniotic fluid, sex will only make it worse.

You need to go right away....... Just take someone with you. At 17 weeks the baby will not beable to live outside your body. Maybe it can be stopped but ONLY if your checked right away,.........dont wait. Stay calm, I had problems at 18 weeks and they told me there was nothin that could be done but to prey. She is now 6 :) Good luck

I'm surprised she hasn't asked to see you. You really need to look into another doctor.

Ruptured membranes this early is very dangerous and at best you should expect bed rest for the remainder of your pregnancy.

If I were you.. I would go into the hospital right now.

That happened to me but i was 34 weeks pregnant. They told me that they had to get the baby out as it was at risk of infection, after my waters broke. I would go to the hospital anyway and get checked out. There is little protecting your baby now.

relax! amniotic fluid will replenish itself...i agree, you should get checked out....i would advise no internal pelvic exams ....they can look at the amniotic fluid levels on a sonogram....it might be a bad sign...but it also might be just fine.....good luck

aww, sweetheart...i read your question to my fiance and he said to tell you that your doctor is "effing stupid." he said that if you were me, he would take you to the er right now, there is no waiting to see if it happens again. and he said that he would definitely make me change doctors. this hasn't happened to me, but i hope to goodness that everything comes out alright. good luck!!
