Is it legal for the courts to revoke a violent offenders probation and then after sentencing leave the offender alone in the courtroom?

The guy was sentenced to serve 25 months and was supposed to be taken into custody immediately

Hi! I'm a novice on yahoo answer but I'm an expeirneced criminal defense attorney so I thought I would try an aswer you "Is is legal" question-short answer, yes it is. I've had some of my clients recieve far longer prison sentences and be permitted by the court to self-surrender several weeks later. However, if the defendant was in custody-no on bail/bond-it is the bailiff's or deputy sherriff's responsibilty to supervise the inmate and while that's not illegal, it's incompetent.
