My daughters great aunt passed away and she wants to send a card to her husband, but he's blind. Would that be considered a mockery? My husband said it would kind of be like sending a deaf man a CD.

They are not that close, so she doesn't feel comfortable calling him.

i think that your daughter has the right heart and that doing it the right way is always first priority......he really can't do much with the card though.....i wouldn't send one unless you know that some one will be around to at least read it to him......if not than i wouldn't bother cause it may do more damage than good for him....i mean it may just make him sad that he doesn't have his wife to read the card for him and make him feel more pity.....maybe you could call him and tell him that you are sorry for his loss and than your daughter might at least talk for a minute so that he knows that people are thinking of him.......

Send a card that sings and has alot of decorations that he can feel. They should have a websight where you can buy cards for the blind. Look it up.

No.....its not wrong. You are just showing something-showing that you care!

Maybe you can send a CD.

I wouldn't call it a sympathy card.....just a "don't worry card" or a "it'll be alright card".

Send an audio version. Or just call him.

It's not wrong, but maybe a phone call to offer sympathy would be more appropriate.

Is there such a thing as a braile card? Not trying to be funny, but if there is such a thing then maybe one of them would be good. =)
