My daughters great aunt passed away and she wants to send a card to her husband, but he's blind. Would that be considered a mockery? My husband said it would kind of be like sending a deaf man a CD.

i'm sure your daughter's card wouldn't be the first piece of mail this man has recieved. it's a very thoughtful idea. send the card.

It would be a nice gesture, provided you make an efffort to make the card in a form that a blind person could appreciate.
Get or make a card with lots of texture, perhaps raised lettering or design, flocked, cutouts, etc. A nice touch would be to include a Braille translation of the message, an even nicer touch would be to include a Braille translation of a handwritten message. (Assuming that they read Braille). Or, speaking of CD's, why not send a sound recording of a sympathy message? There are cards nowadays that include a sound chip for recording a personal message. Or you could select a CD of some favorite music and send it with a Braille encoded note or sound clip note expressing your sentiments.
Or perhaps her husband has someone to read for him? Many blind people do. In that case it would be easier, but I would still use a card with texture and/or sound that a blind person can appreciate.

Try searching the web for cards in braille, there are many resources that come up. That would be the most appropriate, or send a voice recorded message to him. It is a little inconsiderate to send him a typical greeting card, so I would consider the other options.

get a nice card, maybe with sound, then get a needle and puncture out a design, like a candle or a dove. Just the outline, dot by dot. A little bit like braile, only you do the shape.
Like this, you will do it yourself and it will mean much more to the person than if you just bought one.

Please be aware that there are many lovely cards that come with beautiful sound. Usually, they are found in the Hallmark stores.
