I'm afraid not. There is such a lack of integrity in sports that money is the only driving force. If an athlete is the best at what he or she does, that's the only thing that counts. Whether he or she has as measure of self integrity or not may not be a priority with certain sports franchises.

Real role models are everywhere. The media just chooses to show celebrities and atlethes as role models. They dont show doctors saving lifes and teachers improving the school system. I think pro athletes will be banned for criminal behavior because there is too much money at stake. These guys are valuable assets to their teams so if they get in trouble and they are all stars they will not be punished or the punishment will be minor. Lets see guy from the Bears got permission to play in the Super Bowl even though he had a bunch of illegal weapons at his house and just look at the Bengals, they have a good defense, the best lawyers in Cinnanti, lol.

Pro athletes are just regular people too. I think the amount of pro athelete that get into trouble is less than the amount of any other profession out there should they be banned also. Criminals come from all works of life, Lawyers, doctors, accountants, actors, policemen, firemen. It just happens that these people just arent in the spotlight as much as atheletes. If anything the NFl is a lot stricter in terms of suspending and getting rid of true criminals than these other professions. Besides what ever happen to innocent till proven guilty.

Nope. As long as they can play, someone will pay them to do so. In the end it is a business that is about winning and not creating role models. There are plenty of good role models who are professional athletes however, but the bad behavior of several of them overshadow the good behavior of so many others.

Who knows? Just this morning, I read an article about Pac Man Jones of the Tennessee Titans. He has been in trouble with the law several times. The latest: he was in a Las Vegas bar, with $80,000 in cash and there was some sort of a shoot out going on.
The article which I read stated that the Titans have cut Pac Man from the roster. Looks like a step in the right direction.

Pro athletes are not role models, that is up to the parents to be. As long as the athletes continue to make money for these corporations, er, 'teams', they will continue to be allowed to play.

Yes when every female you see on TV stop starving themselves to stay thin or maybe when young girls stop trying to look like hookers and actullay try to pick up a book to read and put the phone down. I guess what I'm saying is your parents should be your role models or better yet GOD!!!!!!!!!! Not some athlete who don't even know you exist.

Roll models?
Are Rock and Roll star made to be role models?
How about Country Stars?
Pop stars?
Actors?
Commedians?
Why are athletes the only entertainer singled out?
Lets not even go to Politicians.:)
Oh the NFL an NFLPA (players union) are going to to something like that so stars keep their endorsement appeal. (Tom Brady condoms? Tank Williams anything? Pacman Jones for Malt liquor?)

i think of too many dad and mom now days use television as a babysitter - as a result the so called stars of those shows replace into place fashions considering the indisputable fact that's what the youngsters be attentive to. whilst i became into growing to be up, the two my dad and mom labored comprehensive time, yet continually made time to spend with me interior the evenings and as a effect I hardly watched television because of the fact as quickly as we've been all domicile mutually it became into 'kinfolk' time. an excellent sort of families I knew did this as nicely, it wasn't basically us. Now days, dad and mom do no longer seem prepared to compromise their lives for the sake of their little ones. that's a extensive fact, and that i be attentive to that there are a number of astounding dad and mom available, yet i think of in an excellent sort of circumstances it is likewise too real. i think of there are some celebs available who're nonetheless super place fashions, yet greater often than not - i think of right this moment's celebs sell conformity and to me, this is no longer an incredible element. i detect people like Hannah Montana and co. frightening - they're completely idealised people, created via promoting firms and with no longer something rather substantial or popular approximately them.

Pro athletes aren't roll models they are humans, with the same predilections we all have; added to that they are given huge sums of money and a pass to do almost anything they want to.
