Depending on set up, to refit belt its like putting a chain back on a bike. One thig though what caused the belt to come off? has the bearing seized or collappsed? Get ur husband to empty the drum and give the internal drum a bit of a wiggle, does he see any movement and hear knocking noise as well ? if so it needs s new bearing, there are other things that could be wrong, try this first and if no good get back to me.
Ps If belt is ok loop it around the large metal wheel at back of drum and other end to electric main motor pulley.

The belt is what actually turns the drum. Look for a pulley in the centre of the drum, then try and find the motor. there should be two bolts holding the motor,.
loosen these slightly (13mm spanner) then slip the belt over the pulleys.
Push the motor out on its mounts to tighten the belt and while it is nice and tight re tighten the bolts on the motor.
It is a bit like changing the fan belt on a car.

There is a rumour that involves the manufacturer of washing machines building a component into the machine that breaks just after the warranty runs out. This part is very difficult to get to as it is cased inside lots of other parts. It may be cheaper to buy new than get a repairman to get the old one running. Im no expert but id need more information to answer this better sorry.

Is there power to the machine? Can you hear the motor running? If yes then the belt has come off or broken.....
