if you want a genuine reply ignore all the silly answers above except Jim's. Giraffes are renowned for being mute but in fact they aren't. They have been known to utter low noises and even ocassional "roaring" (for want of a better word). Fairly recently it was discovered that they communicate all the time in frequencies too low for humans to detect. They even have regional dialects.

I can answer this with confidence as I work with Giraffes.

Giraffes are generally thought to the mute, most zoo keepers will never have heard a sound come from a Giraffe.

However when a Giraffe is highly distressed, it will utter a sort of low moan or grunt. It will only be when the animal is upset, for example if it is calving or seperated from the herd.

It is now thought that Giraffes communicate at an infrasound level, although more research is being done to prove this.

Hope this helps.
