who does a women (spouse) lose a ring while out on the town alone?

Don't buy her another one. If she wants it replaced I say she should pay for it. Maybe it was an accident, or maybe she just wanted to look single for the night. I lost a ring once while trying on a pair of pants. I stuck my hand in the pocket to smooth it down and the ring came off in the pants, which I did not buy. So the ring stayed in the pants and some girl got lucky when she found it in the pants. Luckily it wasn't an engagement ring or expensive.

If a woman is shopping and gets a wink from a guy in the grocery store, gets talked to at the bank or a number at the dry cleaners ... it's flattering to her, probably because her husband at home does not do flattering things anymore.
