I currently live in Ohio and am trying to get the record from my non contested divorce that took place in LA county when I was in Iraq. I have not been able to contact my ex to get the case number or date it was finalized. Is there any way that I can get this info without having to go into a clerks office in California?

It's a public record so you could just do a background check on yourself over the internet. That should at least give you the case number and then you can call the county court house in LA. They will tell you over the phone how to request a certified copy of the divorce records with a signed form, sending them a check, a copy of some identification, etc.

Call the clerks office. There should be a form that you can fill out. Also, have your lawyer contact her lawyer and deal with it that way.
