have you been really spanked good growing up?

Like one you really remember. Like being put over a knee and having your bare butt beat good. If so what did you do to recieve it?

"Really spanked good"???? What is good? Do you mean being beaten with the belt at 10 years old: the force of the blows knocking me off the bed and my father, calm as ice, giving me to the count of three to get back on the bed before the belt came down again - of course I couldn't quite make it back in time so the belt just kept on and on, landing anywhere and everywhere. Oh yeah, It was the morning of my 10th birthday and I was slow to wash the breakfast dishes. Or how about my brother being spanked "really good" with a 2x4 in front of his friends when he was 14, for not immediately washing my Dad's truck. Or the time I was 15 and losing consciousness after being thrown into the wall and waking up to the belt landing every which way. Then being kept home from school for a few days because the bruises were too obvious. When I did go back to school the principal asked me if my Dad had punished me for skipping a class. I said, "I guess you could say I got a spanking". He said, "Well keep your personal problems at home."

Sorry, I'm surprised that this question really pushed some buttons for me. I don't think there is such a thing as a "good spanking" and yes, there are many, many "spankings" that I remember. I wish I could forget.

When I became a parent I was extremely aware that the legacy of child abuse is often passed on - because it's all you know about parenting. I did spank occassionally when my kids were little - but only with my hand and only after taking a minute or so to make sure I wasn't reacting in anger. If I was starting over again today - I would not spank at all. There are other more effective methods of discipline which just require the parent to be expremely consistent.

The worst spanking I ever got was when I was 11. I talked back to my mom and my dad got really pissed. I had friends over and dad told them to step out of my bedroom for a moment. Dad took down my pants and put me over his knee. He whipped my butt until I was bawling. the worst part was my friends were right outside in the hall and dad didn't close the door so they could see the whole thing. They still make fun of me to this day. It has been three years. I never talked back to my parents since.

I was five and my dad had told me not to touch this potted plant about ten times. I was playing some game where I ran around the house and the plant was base. I ran to the plant and knocked the pot down... after my dad told me not to ten times. I wasn't beat to death... just got a really good stinger on my butt.

To all those who respond that spanking is bad and mean, I'm GLAD MY PARENTS SPANKED ME! It's helped me grow up into a well rounded person that really understands consequences.

I got spanked weekly. I was pretty wild when I was little, so I think the spankings calmed me down. I remember doing farm animal calls for no reason in kindergarten and climbing everything I came in contact with. The main thing that I got spanked for was wrestling with my brother. We would go all out-flips and all.

Yeah, on a daily basis! There are two that I still remember from over 20 years ago. One me and my sister was suppose to be sorting out clothes and I was goofing off.... and my mom told me to bend over and stick my head between her legs while she was standing in front of me and she whipped me and I'm not sure how it happened but I remember doing a few flips and ended up upside down. The other I was older and we snuck out to go ride our bikes down the road one night and my dad found us..........we were on the couch and he grabbed my by my hair and whipped me all the way to my room....my head and my butt was sore for about a week.

I remember my mom was going to give me a swat for pushing my sister. I ran outside in the middle of the night (must have been five years old or so) and ran across the road which is actually a pretty busy road. She brought me back in and got out my grandpa's leather belt and beat me pretty good. Looking back, yes i deserved it, I disrespected my sister, ran from my mother and endangered my life. That must have scared the crap out of her.

I got out onto the roof of the house and invited my younger siblings to go with me. It was a 3 story home, and my mother came home from her job to beat my ****! :( But you know what, I got whooped everyday. I was bad, but I did it because she never paid attention to me, so everyday I got my butt whooped. I couldn't even change my clothes for gym class because I had welt marks up and down my legs. Where was DCFS when I was growing up?????? I can't even spank my kids without them showing up at the dang door! But I don't abuse my children, yet I was abused! What the heck??????

Yes I was in fifth grade and played hooky from school. My first step dad beat me for like 20 minutes and threatened to beat my a$$ bloody red if I dared play hooky from school again.

you betcha i did. i grew up in the day when spankings were a normal thing. the one i remeber most is when my mom put all four of us in a line and wanted to know who did it and we were all gonna get a whipping unless one of us spoke up. no one did so i said i did it and i took the beating for the rest of my siblings. they all got grounded i went out that night rollerskating. P.S. my mom knew it wasnt me.
