I had the same thing. There are more than one possible problems. Call the customer suppprt. US and Canda: 1-800-469-9269
TTY users: 1-866-740-9269
they were really helpful. They sent me a pre-paid package to send my 360 to them. Since they still couldn't fix it in a week, they just sent me a brand new one for free

read manual to see what red lights are on. red lights tell you what wrong. if 3 red lights, then you screwed. must make call to ms to get 360 repaired. if 1 light or 2 light, then no big deal.

Pray that you haven't gotten the Red Ring of Death.
If so, then Microsoft should have a replacement policy available.

search for it man, im guessing somethings wrong...My xbox broke a while ago, and microsoft's consoles break very often.
Calling the helpline usually doesn't help at all, ditto with emailing them.
I'd search threads and FAQ's on common 360 forums.
