In the diagram below, a cirlce is inscribed in an isoseles trapezoid whose parallel sides have lengths 8 and 12, as indicated. What is the radius of the circle?

sry, the lengths are 8 and 18 not 8 and 12

In order for the circle to be inscribe in the isosceles triangle, the median of the trapezoid must equal the height. So height (8+18)/2 =13.
Since the height is also the diameter of the circle, the radius must be 13/2 = 6.5.
