The number 5, and by extension 23 are sacred to the discordians. Is there some power behind it? Yes, and no.
Contemplate, 23 and five can be found through the world, and also pop up in many odd things, check out the 23 enigma on wikipedia...and you'll see some of the many eerie incidences...
The more you look, the more you'll see the 5's and the 23's (2+3=5). look even more, they'll show up more (23 chromosomes). (fnord).
(5 fingers, 5 toes, 5 senses)
The moral of the story? 5's and 23's will appear to be more and more significant, based on exactly how clever the searcher is at finding them...

23 what? 23 sticks of dynomite makes a bang, lots of power, but 23 marshmellows may not pack quite as much punch.
Supposidely it was Hitler's favorite number and has significance in cults of evil and chaos and is supposed to be a sign for others (the good, the righteous) to "get away quick!" It is also supposed to be a big joke, after the manner of the familiar, evil tricksters.
Such things are meaningless, depends on what you do with it. The greatest power of 23 is that it is one more than 22.

I know that certain numbers are sacred to different gods, but 23 is new to me. However, the movie looks very interesting and I am going to go see it. Many people believe in numerology so who's to say there is not power in that number.
