I'm assuming you're saying why does Ryan always say "And blah blah blah after this quick break" or something. Well, American Idol is a popular show and lots of people pay to advertise during that show so they have to show the commericals. Also, for suspense and to take up more time.

because they want to keep the suspense coming!! they want more ratings and more money. they also have to sponser their sponsers.....if that makes sense!!!
