The first movie I saw was "OLD YELLER" and that was a long time ago but I still remember and it was wonderful to me.

That's a little before my time, but the first film I remember watching was Cinderella, the Disney version, at the movie theatre. It was a beautiful experience.
My father was a bit of a nutjob and always did something truly horrendous when we all went out. This time he was working on some distant oil rig for a few months and it was just my mom and I. I think I was about 4. We went out to the movie and afterward got Kentucky Fried Chicken for dinner. It was a super-duper treat to get dinner AND a movie.
That's probably why I love movies so much now, forever trying to recapture that first bit of magic.

The first film I remember seeing was in 1977, when I was 7 yrs old. I was lucky enough to be taken to the Empire, Leicester Square to see Star Wars. I remember to this day that I nearly jumped out of my seat when the spaceship flies over at the beginning of the film. What an introduction to cinema!

First one I remember was Wizard of Oz. First one I remember being taken to the theater for was The Time Machine. First one at a drive-in was Thunderball or Charade, whichever came out first. The first one I went to with friends that I remember was Robinson Crusoe On Mars. The first "R" movie I snuck into was The Godfather. The first movie I paid to see twice was The Excorcist. The first "X-rated" movie I saw was Midnight Cowboy, but since it was downgraded to an "R" before I saw it, the first true "X" movie I saw was either Andy Warhol's Frankenstein or Deep Throat (on campus). The first Beta tape I bought was Buckaroo Banzai. The first movie I bought on VHS was Blood Simple. The First laserdiscs I bought came with the machine. The first movie I saw on DVD was The Matrix.

I think it was Night of the Living Dead, or maybe some western on TV. The first one I remember seeing in the cinema was The Muppet Movie (which I forgot most of), but the oldest cinematic memories were from Popeye.
However, I remember recognizing Robin Williams in it, which may have been from another movie or may have been from Mork and Mindy.

The first one I can remember would be Star Wars, Superman The Movie, or The Jerk. So obviously I'm talking about late 70's.
