Breast-feeding-Although progestins pass into the breast milk, the low doses of progestins used for contraception have not been shown to cause problems in nursing babies. Progestins used for contraception are recommended for nursing mothers when contraception is desired.
No contraceptive method is 100 percent effective. Studies show that fewer than 1 of each 100 women become pregnant during the first year of use when correctly receiving the injection on time or receiving the levonorgestrel implants. Fewer than 10 of each 100 women correctly taking progestins by mouth for contraception become pregnant during the first year of use . Methods that do not work as well include using condoms, diaphragms, or spermicides. Discuss with your health care professional what your options are for birth control.
So.. it depends how you take it. If it's oral (pill) you have around a 90% protection rate, the shot or implant is about 99% effective.

The mini-pill (Micronor) is completely safe to take while breastfeeding and very effective in preventing pregnancy when taken correctly (keep in mind that includes taking it around the same time each day).
If it helps, I can tell you from personal experience it worked well for me, and I am, apparently, rather fertile. LOL Our first daughter was a surprise (condoms), and I went on Micronor after having her. She nursed until she was two, and I did not change to a combination pill at any time (though they'll generally give you the option between six months and a year, once nursing is well established).
I actually continued to use the mini-pill after she was weaned, until she was about two-and-a-half and we were ready to start trying to conceive our second (figuring it'd take a few months). I was pregnant less than two months later, so apparently it really was doing it's job. ;)
I didn't go right back on the mini-pill after our second daughter was born (for a number of reasons unrelated to the pill itself), and found myself pregnant again six months later, even though my daughter was nursing exclusively.
So yeah, it's pretty effective, and I never noticed any drop in milk supply or any other problems with it. In fact, I cannot take combination birth control pills because they raise my otherwise-perfect blood pressure, and I never had a single side effect with the mini-pill.
Hope that helps!

Micronor is a Progestin-only contraceptive. For MOST mothers, it is fine to take while nursing. Definately wait at least 6-8 weeks to start it. It works best if you make sure you take it at the EXACT SAME TIME every day.

not in all probability. the ingredient is in basic terms which you're lactating, not HOW the milk is expressed. additionally, Micronor isn't precisely ineffective whether you're actually not at the instant breastfeeding. whilst our oldest replace right into a 365 days previous (and nonetheless breastfeeding), we've been given the alternative of switching to a mixture pill -- which i will not be able to take -- or yet another sort of start administration. certainly, our midwife broke it down for us and stated as quickly as the newborn is a 365 days previous or not breastfeeding, the mini pill's effectiveness declines incredibly, yet in basic terms some proportion factors. We desperate we favored Micronor to an IUD, injections, and so on. (condoms are not a super option for us the two ... gentle dermis LOL), and endured to apply it till we've been waiting to TTC #2 (who replace into born whilst our oldest replace into 3 and a a million/2). by the way, she replace into conceived approximately six weeks after going off Micronor, so i think of it is secure to assert it replace into working properly all that ingredient. ;) desire that facilitates! Edited to characteristic: I extensively utilized Nuvaring for some months between pregnancies. using tactic of transport (a hoop inserted close to the cervix, then bumped off for each week -- or much less, in case you utilize it to lighten menstrual indications), you acquire some distance fewer hormones than with the pill, so it is likewise deemed secure mutually as breastfeeding. i did not in my opinion journey any ingredient outcomes on the subject of it, including a decreased milk grant. so as that must be yet another straight forward, non-everlasting (or maybe semi-everlasting) option for you. ;)
