Well thats a difficult question [especially the "perfer" bit!!]
the "Earth Cup" doesnt quite have the same ring to it does it Now!!
and conversely "dig up some world, sieve it and sprinkle it around the new bulbs you just planted" has a strange sound to it as well
i hope you are able to solve your dilemma without too much tortuous heart and soul searching

Earth. World to me means the other planets aswell

If it is man made I would refer to it as world. If it were of this planet I would call it earth....

World, it sounds more inclusive. Earth sounds like just the bottom layer.
