No, I don't think that LA would take that title. Right of the bat, Miami beach comes to mind, actually. Or for that matter, what about Honolulu? The famous Waikiki beach? While you are at it, why not RIO?
If I had to place a title on LA, it would be the Center for Fruits, Nuts and Flakes.

I suspect It's the capital of the world from an American viewpoint. If there was a "Capital Of The World" I think it would ba an older city than any in modern america or Europe.
