I am a webmaster and I own the domain name AHonorRoll.com (not a current working website). My idea behind this domain was to give an incentive to my children to make A Honor Roll, and actually be able to see their name listed on the website as a reward.
As I started thinking in more depth on the website, I could see how other parents would promote this to their children.
Would you visit a site like this?...would companies want to advertise on a website like this?
Thanks for your opinion.

While I'm not a parent, I have a brother who is in school and this would be a really great idea!
I would say companies that are directly related with education (such as college prep magazines, sylvan tutoring sort of thing, all that) would love to advertise on a site like that.

Great idea!

I work in marketing and have spent a fair amount of time developing online communities. While the idea has promise your incentive is very weak at best, thus I think you'd have a hard time drawing in corporate support. If you can solve this issue and make the site dynamic I think you'd be on to something. Good luck.

I would not like my first and last name showing on a public website like that... maybe if you put first name, last name initial from state? Because I know I would not like my last name showing on a site like that, or town, and I know many parents would not either.
