my friend said that the regular world of warcraft is the same as burning crusade because that everything in the plain world of warcraft is updated to burning crusades update with a patch and if so like can you buy the plain world of warcraft and have burning crusades updates like the maximum lvl of 70

okay so if i have the plain and burnind crusade how do i upgrade from plain to new and will your account be the same

Unfortunately your question is a rambling run-on sentence, which makes it difficult to figure out what you're asking. You can use just the basic World of Warcraft but you'll be limited to level 60 and only the original areas to adventure in (which is still quite a lot). If someone brings back an item from the Outlands, or makes something with Jewelcrafting, it can be sold or transfered like any other, so you will still have indirect access to that stuff.
There is a patch which prepares regular WoW for Burning Crusade but doesn't actually include any of the new material; for example, the ship to the Draenei area shows up at Auberdine but if you get on it you get transported back to the graveyard. If you want to adventure in any of the new areas, get to level 70, or learn Jewelcrafting you'll need the Burning Crusade expansion. I hope that answers your question.

World of Warcraft WITHOUT the BC expansion CAN access some of the new stuff with a patch which you probably already downloaded. You can use the new gear (under 61) and you can do the profession of Jewelcrafting.
HOWEVER
Burning Crusade lets you have access to leveling to 70, the two new races, the new areas on the mainland, Outland, Etc.
When you upgrade your account, you WILL have the same account. It's just BC capable now.

no everything is the same excpt you can not enter the burningcrusade portal, you can not be a dranei and a blood elf. and you can not reach level 70....
