One after another (Denmark, Britain, Australia etc.) the rest of the world is perceiving the invasion of Iraq as folly. Apparently most of the American people too see it as a bad idea. It is quite likely that Americans will elect as their next president a leader who understands that when you have lost at the craps table it's really, really dumb to think that throwing more money on the table will lead to a win which will recoup your losses. Wiser players know that there's a time to cut your losses and stand up and walk away from the table. The player who thinks that throwing good money after bad will bring him a win is the player who eventually sacrifices the title to his home and goes home on the bus broke.

The so-called "coalition of the willing" is evaporating. The goodwill towards America long held by such as Australia is being lost. The Bushco strategy seems to be like an alcoholic who decides that he needs a shot of whisky to give him the strength to give up drinking.

The stupidity of this war is appalling. The Brits tried to take over Iraq in 1918 and failed. Obviously, George W. Bush, Tony Blair and Dick Cheney are not historians.

The war is a failure because these folks learned nothing from history.

The coalition is disintegrating. The war in Iraq is coming to a close along with this Republican government. 20 years from now Americans will be scratching their heads, saying, "What the heck was that all about?"

These last 6 years have been some of the most wasted and destructive years in American history. George W. Bush will go down in infamy as the worst American President of all time.

I don't think there was ever really a coalition of the "willing" - it was more like a "coalition of the greedy". Aside from the UK (who are strapped to the US like the US is to Israel) Denmark, Lithuania, Belarus etc were just there for the goodie bags for playing along.....

In the end, we will be standing alone, with our pants down and blood gushing from everywhere.

Love your final sentence....as I am well acquainted with a stock broker, and enjoy his conversations, the smart money says that this war is all about oil. Initiated by oil men and run by oil men. The main contracts issued by the US were given to Haliburton folks, and we all know about them. Why we ever invaded another country for obscure and faulty information, will haunt our history books for years to come. Our current President doesn't listen to good advice, and replaces anyone who disagrees with him. These middle eastern wars have been fomenting for hundreds of years, all based on the idea that one religious belief is superior to another. What a bad joke on the populace. All this really does is secure lifetime employment for some bearded guy in a robe/dress costume who can reinforce these bad ideas.
In the name of Peace, they invented a Jihad, what a farce, and we walked into the middle of it. Too bad men keep volunteering for military service, and feeding this insanity. Best wishes

No, it does not. Most of "the willing" were those nations who could be strong-armed into participating by an AMerican regime that espoused an "if you're not with us, you're against us" philosophy. Notice that thise that made token (or larger) contributions to the miliray force were able to do so with the proviso that their forces would be kept in the safest roles and locales possible.

It never actually existed to begin with and it is doomed because the Lord God is against the false America and the false Israel and decidely supportive of the freedoms of the people in Al Qaeda and other groups the false nations hate and fight against.

You hit the nail on the head my friend.
England, Denmark, Lithuania and S. Korea announced that they will partly or completely withdraw their troops this year.
Our gov't will keep selling us that everything is "going as planned".
It shows that the invasion/occupation is working, those area's occupied by those countries are now safe they tell us.
Seems like the only unrest in Iraq is in the area's the US occupies.

If any of you bush haters would CHOOSE to remember, none of the coalition forces were to be stationed there indefinitely. They have ALL been scheduled to leave at various times, and are doing so in accordance with their stated missions. But you would never know that by veiwing our fair and unbiased liberal press.

Funny the British take out 1/3 of their total troops in Iraq by the end of the year.. meaning theyll still have 5000 troops in Iraq past 2007. They continue to say then that they will beef up their commitment in afganistan.. and all of a sudden all the libs start saying that everyone is leaving us..

funny

They are all bailing out. They have the sense to see that it is a no win situation that has turned into a civil war. Only Bush with his cardboard sword is still standing. How ironic that draft dodgers and AWOL warriors are the ones who want to continue this hopeless war.
