I agree. Some people just want to ramble endlessly on about their own experiences, when they have no bearing on the question being asked. Boring - big time.

No some people write them because they are not in the limelight anymore and still want that buzz, so its a way of getting their name out again

Some, because they need the money

Others, because they feel that they have done so much in so little time- and are so experienced

It can also be cathartic

Others because they have really interesting lives

But most do it because some agent or publicist thinks it would be a good idea

No. I just like to give a novel because that is the length of my answer. I try and be as detailed as possible and i do not like giving short answers to some questions since it could be insulting to the askers and i want to show some respect too that i have actually read their question and did my own research on it.

Have a nice day!

Do more women than men, write long answers?

On average, women say about 20,000 words a day, while men say 7,000.

My b/f and I talk about this all the time, obviously I say more than he does LOL.....but its really true, IMO.

He can say the exact same thing I'm going to say, with fewer words.....

Would you rather a "ummm", "don't know" or some incorrectly spelled load of misleading rubbish? My understanding of the requirements of people who post questions on this site is that they want to know full information in answer to their question. In future if you don't want a full answer please limit the number of words to be used by people answering your question.
