Is it beef, chicken, or pork, or is it just guts and meat unfit for human consumption? I would like to hear from people employed in the pet food industry. Thanx.

It really depends on the brand. Pretty much any food you get at the grocery store (Purina, Pedigree, Iams, Science Diet, etc) is no good and is going to include some nasty unmentionable stuff and chemicals. Go with good brands like canned Chicken Soup and Innova EVO (both of which I use in addition to raw feeding). Other good brands are Canidae, Merrick, Wellness, Solid Gold, California Natural, etc.

Depends on the manufacturer. Canned food is mostly water though. Do you really think anyone in the business will say they can scrapings from the slaughterhouse floor?
