What can you do on Limewire, BitTorrent, etc. legally?

I know you can get illegal things, but what is legal?

I'm pretty sure file sharing is legal but you might want to look into that. But all these programs claim they're legal unless you take the stuff that actually has the copyright on it.

anything thats not copywrited, eg programs wrote by other people, music, video etc..
