I am a huge Chris Daughtry fan, and am interested to see how American Idol adding his song "Home" to their contestant exits will affect album sales. Could the song "home" go #1 before ever being released as a single?
I am not sure I am sold on Billboard.com information, and it really doesn't give me a number of sales.
Would love to compare Daughtrys latest sales numbers to Taylor Hicks.

Chris has sold over 1.6 million right now and still going up as we speak though the magazines and other places are saying he si double platinum now (in 3 months LOVE IT )
Taylor has barely sold over 630 THOUSAND. but he is shipped platinum so over 1 million has been shipped. Soundscan is another source but you have to have a membership for that!
Also check the American Idol boards season 5 folder us Chris fans post his numbers on there in a weekly basis! Last week Chris was number 9 over all in sales selling just over 100thousand Taylor was like number 97 selling 11 thousand

I don't believe there is a single source. As you point out, the albums you are looking for aren't in current sales data on sites like Billboard. To find stats for a particular album, contact the record company itself. And once you get that number from them, you can cross reference it by doing a Google search for something like "
