diy tivo help?

Hi, im building my own tivo/dvr out of an old computer, and was wondering if the diy tivo uses the cable cord to pick up tv listings or an internet cord

While I'm not sure exactly what your set-up is, most PC DVRs I know use a Internet channel listing service, such as TitanTV (http://www.titantv.com/) to get channel listings.

It loads in the TV guide from the local station onto the Tivo and then updates it once a day. You will need some very tricky software to do this on your own.
