I just really didnt like it. It was boring and tried too hard to make these "connecting" stories significant. I still think the whole story with the Japanese girl had absolutely no point to the movie. Overall is just annoyed me. I sat through it all because I was hoping it would all come together at the end, but it just kind of ends and we dont know the complete fates of any of the characters.

Does anyone agree?

First of all, I dont know what the first answerer is talking about "renting" this since it has only been in theatres for a month or two.

Anyways, I agree. I think the storyline had a lot of unnecessary parts. The whole japanese storline did nothing for me. It had one tiny connection to the main story. If that whole part was cut out, the experience wouldnt have changed anything. That whole story was pointless and unnecessary.

Also, there were many quiet parts that were nothing but musical score. I thought the music was very annoying. There were times where it was almost screechy and cut through me. I dont know how it got an Oscar nom for best origional musical score.

I also dont think there was closure. So they explained a few things a tthe end, but how does it all come together???? The Bard Pitt story ends where the Mexican babysitters part started. So what was the reaction of Brad Pitt when everything was going on with her and his kids? And what was the ultimate fate of the father and the brother of the one boy? They just show them coming down the mountain and dont give you any idea what happened then.

All in all I thought this movie stunk and I cant believe it landed a Best Picture nomination. They should have bumped this off the nomination for a truely great film like Pan's Labyrinth or Children of Men

Yeah, I agree. Friends told me it was great so I rented it and when it was over, I blankly stared at the screen waiting for Ashton Kutcher to pop up and say I've been punked!!

Hey idiot below (meneed2tan), I rented the movie two night ago at blockbuster. Brad Pitt starred in the movie and his wife was shot while they were on a tour bus in Morocco. I know what I'm talking about!! The movie must have been pretty bad if it's already on video.
