Thats about 2,500 a month. And a little over 600 a week. That is pretty good as long as you know your spending limits.

Wow, what do you all do? I am still working towards a 30K salary and I have been in the work force for almost 10 years and I have a business degree. Maybe it's because I am in the Clerical/Administrative field.
Companies look at me cross eyed when I ask for 30K.
But to me, a STARTING salary of 30K sounds very good.. depending on where you are and what you are doing.

Depends on the classification of job your are talking about. $30K/year is less than $3000/month. For Ca, this is OK if you have roommates. Might be fantastic in another state. Ultimately, you should look at the cost of living for the area you plan on getting a job in, and then judge what type of pay you need to make ends meet.

That depends on the job and where you live. $30,000 would barely be enough to live on in San Francisco, but you'd do great in a small town in Kentucky. Also, $30,000 would be a great starting salary in retail, but pretty awful if you had an engineering degree. It's all relative.

It's what I made a little after college.
It all depends on what your field is. Starting salary for a new associate at a law firm is about $125,000, straight out of law school.
Without any reference, I can't judge it. If you are in a technical field - software, engineering, it's really low. For social work it's not bad.

In most cities, you can live on it. Whether it is a "good" start, depends on what you are doing for it. If you went to college for 6 years, it is a lousy salary. If you barely finished high school, it is great!

I would say yes. As everyone else said, it certainly depends on what field you are in. I graduated with a BS in Musical Theatre. My first "real" job out of college was at an insurance firm making $26,500.
Stay motivated and work your way up. Everyone has to start somewhere.

In what field? Is this your first job?
Anyway, in the absence of add'l info from you, I would say that 30K isn't bad at all - esp. if your single. Good Luck.

It's pretty good- depending on where you live in the country. I started at 25K- but that was 10 years ago...

That really depends on your education and what kind of job you have. I mean if you just got an associates degree than its decent. but if you are like a medical researcher, than its horrible.
