which is your fav texas city and why?

which city you like the best, im a dutch girl (26) moving there in sept to live with fiancee. we are open to where we'll live..

Move to Austin if possible. I've lived there and in Houston, also spent some time in Dallas, and Austin is by far the winner. There is good nightlife, the weather, while not ideal, is much better than Houston's (very humid and sticky) and you don't have to be in your car forever like Dallas/Fort Worth.

Also, Austin has a good economy with high-tech and other businesses headquartered there (although Houston and Dallas have major corporations too) and the atmosphere is better. Houtson and Dallas are hard-core Republican areas, although George Bush's performance might be changing that, and Austin still has a liberal streak. Also, with the University of Texas right in town, there are a lot more college graduates there than anywhere else in Texas, and there is a broad spectrum of things to do there.

Austin is the only city in Texas to move to. But only in south central will you get the true laid back feeling. This area is filled with shops, boutiques, tons to walk to. Plus if you love music you will get sxsw and acl, not to mention all the events that happen all over the city everyday.

Oh and Central Austin was the only city that didn't vote for Bush.

Dallas for culture and pro sports.
I live in Houston,it's OK, but anywhere in Texas will be very hot in the summer,especially for Northern Europeans.

Amarillo is the ONLY place to live in Texas. Home of the world famous "Big Texan" steak house. Great weather, minimum crime and just lovely people.
